Foison Resources Launches Landmark Hospital Project in Mosavie Community

Foison Resources SL Limited has taken a major step in advancing community development with the official turning of the sod for a new standard hospital in Mosavie Community, Jong Chiefdom, Bonthe District. The ceremony, held on Monday, 30th March 2026, marks the beginning of a transformative initiative aimed at expanding access to quality healthcare services in the region.

The well-attended event brought together key stakeholders, including the District Medical Officer (DMO), Bonthe District, Brima Bopson Sesay; the District Health Sister, Christiana Elliott; and members of the District Health Management Team (DHMT). Also present were the Councillor, the District Youth Leader, the Town Chief of Mosavie Community, and other prominent community stakeholders, reflecting strong local support for the project.

Welcoming attendees, the Public Relations Officer of Foison Resources SL Limited, Maimunatu Bah, expressed appreciation for the impressive turnout and community backing. She described the project as a critical intervention that will significantly improve access to essential healthcare services for residents of Mosavie and surrounding communities.

She emphasized that the hospital will bring quality medical services closer to the people, reduce the challenges associated with long-distance travel for treatment, and contribute meaningfully to saving lives. She further noted that the inclusion of these supporting facilities will ensure efficient service delivery and long-term sustainability.

Reaffirming the company’s commitment to community wellbeing, Ms. Bah stated that the project underscores Foison Resources SL Limited’s dedication to delivering lasting and impactful development across its operational areas. She emphasized that access to quality healthcare should not be a privilege but a right, and that this project clearly demonstrates the company’s commitment to improving lives and building stronger communities.

In his remarks, the District Medical Officer, Brima Bopson Sesay, commended the company for what he described as a timely and strategic intervention. He highlighted the importance of the project in strengthening healthcare delivery and improving access to essential medical services for communities across the area.

The project will deliver a modern standard hospital comprising five rooms, a reception area, and a fully functional outpatient department, designed to meet the immediate and growing healthcare needs of the population.

The project also includes the construction of a self-contained staff quarters for the Community Health Officer (CHO), who will manage the facility. This is expected to enhance the availability and retention of skilled healthcare personnel within the community.

Additional components of the project include a water well, a kitchen, and external sanitation facilities, all of which will contribute to a safe, hygienic, and patient-friendly hospital environment.

This initiative forms part of Foison Resources SL Limited’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, which continues to prioritize improvements in healthcare and education across its operational communities.

Residents of Mosavie Community have welcomed the project with enthusiasm, describing it as a vital and life-changing development that will greatly reduce the long-standing challenges of accessing healthcare services in the area.
