Foison Resources SL Limited Donates 300 Liters of Diesel to the District Health Medical Team Moyamba District in Support of the fight against Monkeypox.
In a strong show of commitment to community health and corporate responsibility, FOISON Resources Sierra Leone Limited has donated 300 liters of diesel to the District Health Medical Team (DHMT) Moyamba, in a swift and generous response to support the district’s ongoing fight against the Monkeypox outbreak.
The donation was made following a direct appeal from the DHMT, which sought immediate support to sustain essential health services amidst the recent Monkeypox crisis. Without hesitation, FOISON, true to its corporate social responsibility ethos, stepped up to meet the need — delivering the fuel donation at its mining site in Taninahun community, Kongbora Chiefdom, Moyamba District.
Speaking on behalf of the District Medical Officer, who was unavoidably absent, Mr. Musa Kpangay, the Human Resource Officer for DHMT Moyamba, expressed heartfelt gratitude. “This donation means more than just fuel; it represents life-saving support in a time of urgent public health need. On behalf of the District Medical Officer and the entire health team, we thank Foison for standing with Moyamba,” he said.
Foison’s Site Manager, Mr. Alex Kamara, reiterated the company’s long-term commitment to the development and well-being of communities in the district. “Foison is not here to extract and disappear. We are here to stay. We are part of Moyamba, and we will continue to support every legitimate request that seeks to improve the lives of our people,” he stated.
More than a mining giant, Foison has consistently shown that its footprint in Sierra Leone goes beyond business — it is rooted in compassion, development, and solidarity. This recent act of generosity is just one of many examples of how the company aligns itself with the pressing needs of the people, especially during times of health emergencies.
As the nation grapples with preventing the spread of Monkeypox, partnerships like this between public health institutions and responsible corporate actors are not only welcome — they are essential. FOISON’s action is a powerful reminder that when communities, companies, and government agencies come together with a shared purpose, hope becomes stronger, and solutions become possible.
This donation has not only fueled vehicles and generators — it has reignited trust, reaffirmed responsibility, and strengthened the bond between Foison and the people of Moyamba.
